GORGEOUS GLASS AND WOODEN HELICAL

The client for this project was building a large extension onto his luxury property in St Georges Hill, Surrey we were employed by GM Development to undertake the design supply and installation of the feature staircase.

Our sales and technical team met with the client and the contractor on this project to capture his vision for the staircase and its standing within the allocated space.

Our team were advised that it was to be the main feature within the room but should look as minimal as possible whilst still “welcoming you in”.

A staircase size was marked out for the clients approval including a splayed section at the bottom of the staircase creating a large entrance. The specification called for a solid, silent structure which resulted in a fabricated metal sub-frame including stringers and treads being installed which would then be clad in oak by our joiners hiding all metalwork and with glass balustrade and timber handrails. All timber works were stained to match other elements of joinery within the room.
